Default Enchanted lands quest series question

Does anyone know if it's possible to do the quest series in the Enchanted Lands that begins with "Start of Something Big" and continues with "What's this thing do?", and "Sanity Check" without killing mishievous maidens and other non-agro fae? I'm probably being foolish, but I like playing the hero, and it doesn't seem right to go around attacking fairies minding their own business, who say things like "Will my death satisfy your bloodlust?" when you do attack. Is there some way to skip the earlier parts of the quest, and start wtih "Sanity Check" or something even later? It's a long series of quests including a book quest.

It has been a while, but I remember thinking that I didnt like doing those quests either. My one way of doing it was there was an aggro maiden in that area, she would count to the quest. I think that she was the Mischievous maiden....

The mischevious maidens dont have 'faction' so you can do those quests safely without messing up the Seafury faeries. Alternatively, there are some, but very few, 'agro' versions of those.

Faction is not the issue. It's the player's concept of the character that he/she wouldn't kill creatures such as faeries that aren't trying to hurt him/her.

In EQ1, I had a character that wouldn't kill wolves because she could transform herself into a wolf. The only time she would kill a wolf was when one attacked her and she would mourn the passing of the wolf she killed.

But to answer the OP, no, I don't think it's possible you can avoid killing them altogether. Though you could group with someone else who then kills them while you stay a bit away...

Lol, as I said, I didnt like kiling these things either, however having one that attacked me eased my mind ( I HAD to defend myself after all)

The "very mischievous maiden" attacks me, but the "mischievous maiden"s I have found don't. At least according to the online guides I've found, I'm supposed to kill both in order to complete "Start of Something Big." If I could find agro versions of the "mischievous maidens" and the other sirens the quest requires, that would solve the problem for me.

I had a similar reaction doing the "In honor and Service" heritage quest when I was supposed to kill Fae flies that seemed to be sentient mobs that weren't harming anybody. In that case I gave up the quest since I didn't think it was worth it; but in this case I'd like to be able to do the quests that come after the ones in question.

Only the 'very' version will attack on sight.. I guess as far as those quests go I never worried about it.. since "good" people where asking me to kill some of them the faeries must be a nuisance and not necessarily 'good' themselves. (even though they dont attack on sight)

I knew that it was one of those pesky ones that attacked me...

It has been a while and I was going off of my memory (which is like swiss cheese lately)...lol

They stole the Halfling's stuff, just imagine you're giving them a beat down.

Getting AA and quest exp is always worth it.

RP gets in the way sometimes...

Luckily some wierdos invited me to a group and started killing all the deputies and other named halflings. I said no but I gained free named exp from them.
