Disabling auto attack, making sure you aren't on a picky mount (for reference, horses back slower than they go forwards still), no lag and not being too low on health or power will give you a good 85% chance of making it. If the mob isn't red or too many...99% but it happens to even us old timers (specially in Kunark) more than we would like to admit.
