The concept for this skill is simple, the assassin skill would be a branch of combat. A successful assassin attack would allow you to 1-hit kill various enemies and would also grant special items. The higher the level the stronger the enemy you can assassinate.

-What is the assassin skill and how will it work?


There will be a quest to unlock the assassin skill explained later. From unlocking the skill you will learn what it is about. It is the ability to kill an enemy with one-hit. Just like with slayer or thieving you will have a list of enemies you are able to assassinate if you have a high enough level. When you gain enough levels you can unlock new items, armors, weapons, costumes, and NPCs.

You can only attempt an assassin strike once per enemy. To attempt it just right click on the enemy and choose the assassinate option. If it fails you will be stunned, hurt, (in the same manor of failing a thief attempt) and, including who you attempt to assassinate, all enemies nearby will automatically aggro you whether or not you are in a multi combat area. (the enemies may not be able to attack you but they will line up and wait for their turn to come at you)

You gain XP much like slayer. A successful assassination will give you experience equal to the amount of hits your target has. Certain items you collect from the drops of your victims can only be traded back to the NPCs for assassin points that would work much like slayer points. You can exchange these points for the ability to make equipment, for the equipment itself, or for xp rewards.

Outside Port Phasmatys start quest by speaking to new NPC Byron Beckwith near the entrance gate

He will tell you of an unrest he’s heard about taking place in Canifis. The people there are getting stirred up in an unsettling way. Talk to him to find the source of his information is Mazchna.

Go to Mazchna, he will confirm someone has been stirring up the locals against Port Phasmatys. He is causing the villagers to blame the Port town for the fact they are all werewolves and it telling them they will be cured if they overrun the town and purge all of the evil spirits. He isn’t sure who the man is but knows he converses with the shop keepers. Speak to all of them to find the stranger is an Avid Monk from the Paterdomus Temple, he is always protected by a group of monks who believe he is the next savior.

Head back to Byron for ideas about how to get to the monk and he will tell you of an ancient art combining stealth and attack. The blow must be strong and can only be dealt with a special weapon. He tells you how to make this weapon, a curved dagger. It is thicker, sharper and easier to quickly take out an enemy. All you can wield at level 1 is a copper curved dagger. Make 1 and speak with Byron again.

The screen will fade to him assassinating an enemy as he explains the main steps. Wait until the target is away from the group (the more alone he is the higher the success rate) right click and select the assassinate option.

Byron will tell you to assassinate him and bring back proof to help calm down the people of Port Phasmatys who are gearing up for a fight. Slay the Avid Monk, he will drop his Colored Stole. Take this to Byron and complete the quest.

Curved Daggers (CD): Bronze-Rune

CDs are the basic assassination weapon that you can use on weaker enemies where melee combat works unless otherwise stated

Curved Blade (CB): Bronze-Rune

CBs are stronger melee assassination tools able to assassinate any melee enemy unless otherwise stated.

Recurve Bow/Recurve Crossbow

These ranged weapons add extra tension to your bow allowing your to fire farther faster making your shots less detectable to those nearby enemies. These bows can be used against all enemies who can be assassinated depending on the arrow/bolt you choose.

Piercing Bolts/Arrows (PA)

PA is made sharper so they can be fired right through soft enough flesh making it easier to assassinate enemies with this ranged strategy. Can only penetrate through smaller weaker enemies, won’t break through tougher hides

Sleek Piercing Bolts/Arrows (PB)
PB is made smaller and sharper so they can be fired right through even the toughest of hides making it easier to assassinate enemies using the ranged skill. Can penetrate any enemy able to be assassinated.

Ice Bolt/Arrows (IA)
IA will melt away without a trace, perfect for hot enemies or smart enemies that you need to outsmart so assassin lest they aggro you.

Thermite Bolt/Arrow (TB)
TB burn so hot it will turn all traces to ash. Good for same as (IA) terms

Stealth Rune (StR)
StR muffles sound both from the caster and from the victim so he can be neutralized without those around him realizing it. Can be used to assassinate any enemy without great hearing.

Silent Rune (SiR)
SiR muffles all sound from both the caster and from the victim so he can be neutralized without those around him realizing it. Can be used to assassinate any enemy at all able to be assassinated

**Sidenote: Blessed weapons (silverlight/excalibur) will give special bonuses against demons and werewolves.

All suggestions are welcome for these weapons.

Assassins will have an ability to get costumes and armor that will increase their stealth or defense ability. They will be purchaseable from the assassin NPCs for the assassin points you have built up, and each piece will be untradeable.

lvl 20 Muted Hide Set: Set gives assasin level +2 and has better defense to all forms of combat than Dark Robes set

lvl 30 Sneaking Set: Set gives assassin level +3 poor defense rating: hood, body, legs, feet, hands

lvl 40 Lullaby Charm: Amulet that prevents enemies from being aggressive towards you

lvl 50 Dark Robes: Each piece gives +.75 assassing level better defense rating than sneaking set. With full set worn enemies will no longer be aggressive towards you (unless you fail an assassin attempt): head/body/legs/feet/hands/cape

lvl 60 Silenced Dragon Hide Set: Best defense rating so far, each piece give +1.5 levels: body/legs/hands

lvl 60 Shadow Wall: shield with defense about the amount of rune when worn enemy can only see darkness and will not be aggressive towards you

lvl 70 Vaporous Robes: Assassin level +1 per piece worn full set bonus prevents enemies from being aggressive towards you: Head, body, legs, hands, feet

lvl 80 Armor of the Occult/Hides of the Occult/Robes of the Occult - Defense rating between rune and dragon, each piece give +1 to assassin level, a full set gives about a 10%-15% increase chance of success to your attempt

Armor would give mainly melee defense and CD or CB assassin bonuses
Hide would give mainly range defense and PA,PB,IA,TB assassin bonuses
Robes would give mainly mage defense and StR and SiR assassin Bonuses

Carry a vial with you you will always collect a vial of blood. If you assassin a human you get human blood, goblin gets goblin blood, and so on. These items can be traded to NPCs for assassin points or used in herblore to make new potions. Drops for other items should lower slightly compared to if the enemy was killed normally, but the quality of the drop should be slightly improved. I.E. if a Chaos Druid drops herbs from Tarromin and up then you should get harralander and up when you assassinate them.

Very Rarely you will have a chance to behead an enemy like in slayer. Take the enemy head, stuff it in Canifis to mount in your house.

NPCs are like slayer masters, just hanging out in various parts of the world. Unlike slayer masters you will not be able to see the NPC unless you have a higher enough level to converse with him. Otherwise he will be so much better than you he will be undetectable because he’s just that good.

This is important because only new – better assassins can unlock new equipment and abilities for you

**There is a hidden Thallium mine past where the cave goblins mine. Reginald will show this to you as well as explain Thallium is highly toxic. You must always Mine and smith Thallium with a mask and gloves. Thallium is very hard so you can make you CD or CB weapons with it. With these weapons you can have the highest strength bonus while you try to assassinate, but these weapons naturally will poison the enemy with any touch. The poison should be at least as strong as the strongest Poisoned weapon.
