Default Armor Value of items is too low at lvl 80.

I've noticed this much lately... all stats on items has doubled since the Burning Crusade, like Tier 7 got twice the Stamina as Tier 4, so does all other stats except armor... I mean, the armor has just increased with like 40% or something, like my Warrior got 24K Armor in Tanking gear, when he was a lvl 70 Tank he used to have about 16K armor and 16000 + 16000 = 32000... that's 8K difference. I think they should raise the armor contribution and armor value of all Leather, Mail and Plate gear, Cloth doesn't really matter so much... like I think a Warrior with about 30K HP should have about 28-30K Armor... but what do you guys think?

Why?...I still have 60% physical mitigation from my armor...the Number doesnt matter just the % of physical damge it Mitigates.

The thing is just that I think it seems so low compared to what stats has increased dramatically by number.

Because as it is at the moment it's balanced just fine... if you started mitigating 80-90% damage they'd have to redo the math on block, dodge and parry or the whole thing would be a walk in the park.

To use a Blizz term, at the moment I'd say it's "working as intented". My tank is very happy with his amount of armor.

I think the point of this thread is that all other stats doubled, if armor was doubled ASWELL it would allow 80s to go back and redo dungeons from bc and other content more easily. Furthmore for the warriors out there, we'd see a decent boost in dps as well. (Armored to the Teeth).

I'm with you on that, I was already calculating my AP gain from 80 armor before LK came out.

Maximum absorption cap is 75% which is achieved at about 49.5k armor against a level 83 mob (a boss).

You have about 61% absorption using the formula :100 / ( (467.5 * EnemyLevel - 22167.5) / Armor + 1 )

32k armor would give you 65% absorption.

There really isn't much you can do. You'll never probably reach 70%. Endgame tanks (as far as I'm aware) have even been close to the cap (which was 35k against a 73 mob).

So no use in complaining. That 8k won't give you too much.

Blizzard tunes everything to the armor that is available anyway.

If you have more armor, bosses just hits harder.

Makes 0 difference.

You could have 1 billion armor, but boss just hits for 4million.
at the end, you're still getting hit 20k hp or something.

I'm not talking about that I want the mitigation to get higher, I just want to see like this "Uber number" of th armor amount... in fact this thread is slightly pointless, just that if you was in 60 and had 150 armor, let's say that should be the normal armor points for a lvl 60 Tank. It says it reduce the phsycical damage by 60%, wouldn't that look like abit... tiny if you know what I mean?
