Balance druids are still irritating to level up, particulary as blizzard has screwed around with the way mana regeneration works, and this hurts characters with little in the way of spirit/intellect (including low-level chars).
However, later on owlkin becomes quite entertaining even though Blizzard could have done a better job sorting out the balance tree. You get a great many useful skills, in a party you can crowd-control up to three targets at once by hibernating beasts and dragonkin, rooting any target, or enveloping them in a short-duration cyclone. You can also use your treants to occupy a fourth target for a while, though it won't be long in a heroic dungeon as the treants are rather fragile. This is (a lot) more options than many other classes, You also get to very quickly resurrect fallen allies even when you're in combat, and you can function as a competent assistant healer should the need arise, and you can buff your allies with thorns that hurt attackers when they hit your friends, and with your mark of nature that increases, armor, resistances and stats. If you're a night elf and a dungeon fight is going badly you can shadowmeld and thus avoid getting killed. Then after the fight is over you can resurrect your friends and try again! Best of all, you get access to the Rocketbird skill once you turn level 70 (by paying 5000 gold and doing an easy quest chain), or directly from a trainer at level 71 (you still need to pay 5000 gold first though.) Rocketbird - or Swift Flight Form as it's more formally known as - is one of the coolest skills in the game, and makes many collection tasks a breeze, including herb picking and ore mining. You simply fly around and harvest stuff, and if anything attacks you you rise straight up into the air, out of harm's way. I'll let someone else point out advantages of shammies, I've not played that class (or at least not past level 6 or so)... |

Ele shamans are really useful imo, thier ability to use totems to increase raid abilities is really nice. tremor totem to remove fear, sleep, etc. they can increase spell dmg of raid members wich is really useful to all casters. they can even increase crit chance or increase haste raiding for faster casts. Then the ability to rez themselve after a wipe after a bad pull or mistake is always nice. Also a mail using caster is always nice to have so they arent so fast killing as most clothies are. When i was dpsing in Gruuls and a one fo the ogres randomly charged a target i would see a clothy die most the time but when my shaman was hit having all the armor and a shield i could take a hit then continue fighting. So i think ele shamans have more uses then a boomkin in a raid/instances.
Then mount wise only thing i can say is ghost wolf isnt so bad when your pvping at 29 xD |

Honsetly I feel they are a very similar class, I would (loosely) compare wrath to lightning bolt and starfire to chain lightning. Then also flame shock and moonfire are very similar.
Shamans get mail and shields while druids get the huge armor buff. Both will end up with about the same amount of armor. What I am trying to get at is that no matter which one you choose the play will be the same. Also both classes will have their advantages to groups and lack where the other one succeeds. So really I would bring it to whichever one you think looks coolest! |

I have high level versions of BOTH those class. I will say druid ONLY because of a point that really doesn't contribute to the discussion. That point is a druid can take part in any of the major roles in a raid/instance with a simple spec change. They can tank, heal or DPS (ranged and melee!) A shaman simply cannot tank... Honestly that is the only reason I prefer druid.... because if I get bored instead of /reroll i can simply /respec and im good to go.
But to ADD to the discussion, I would have to say Druid still, I find balance far more useful in pvp than Elemental. Yes I have seen the videos of the multi-crit chain lightning. But in all honesty with creative editing ANY class can seem awesome My 2c..... |

The introduction of the Air Jordan one turned the basketball shoe industry upside down. Most basketball shoes were white before Air Jordan one, but the bold black and red styling of the Air Jordan one broke this convention. The NBA league banned the shoe and amerced Michael Jordan $5000 a game. Of course, Nike was more than happy to pay these to keep the shoes in the game and in the public eye. So the Air Jordan line became a household name for it. Do you want it? I am sure you will be the coolest player in the game!
